May 9th is a special day for India too, even though it is Europe Day today !

Diverse and plural societies, EU and India’s strategic partnership and the great strides that they’ve made together is reason enough to rejoice and celebrate May 9th.

Their partnership and shared ideals are particularly significant in an environment of uncertainty and unprovoked violence by Russia against Ukraine . PM Modi has rightly said that this is no time for war.

The alarming rise in temperatures and erratic climatic changes around the world are glaring right into our faces!

Europe has adopted the objective to become climate neutral by 2050 . A lofty goal supported immensely by investments in renewable energy from the Indian side .

The fight against climate change and the development of a digital economy both require immense efforts by synergy created amongst international community in order to accelerate transformative change.

One cannot help but ponder about the urgency of not only collective action but more importantly individual action by you and me, to make this world a safer place for now and for the future?

The ‘Ode to Joy’, can now safely be called not only a European Hymn but a global hymn that the world must sing together in perfect harmony!
